Getting to know Redington Shores
Redington Shores was founded in the early 1930s and incorporated in 1955. Its population grew from about 900 in 1960 to about 2,400 by 1990, and the 2020 census counted about 2,200 residents.
The town sits on the barrier island between Indian Shores and North Redington Beach, with Gulf beach on the west and Boca Ciega Bay on the east. Bayside lots and canals hold most of the town's residential seawalls.
What Redington Shores seawalls are up against
Bayside lots here are narrow, with homes close to the wall and limited yard behind it. That makes tieback and anchor design tighter than on wide mainland lots.
